hope jay's song can stay there for the next 4 or 5 weeks. though it's not as nice as his previous ones, the other competitors are either nowhere near him, or they have already started to fall already -.-

Breaking The Father’s Shadow

Congrats to Jay’s ‘Chao Ren Bu Hui Fei’ holding steady at No.1. However, the bigger news is lower down the chart.

It is extremely difficult to surpass your father’s achievements. In Long Hu Bang’s history, only David Tao has surpassed his father’s achievement. However, his achievement is really nothing compared to the 2nd artiste who did it.

Jackie Chan, Hollywood superstar, Hong Kong No.1 action actor. However, not many people knew he has a hit in 1991, when his duet with Tarcy Su, ‘Zai Wo Sheng Ming Zhong De Mei Yi Tian’ got to No.3. Imagine how his children is going to surpass his achievement?! Amazingly, Jaycee Fang is managed to climb 4-2 with ‘Ruo Wu Qi Shi’, thus shattering his father’s record. Will Jaycee go 1 better to reach the pop pinnacle, well, he might have to face off with the artiste at No.3...

Show Luo is really growing from strength to strength. He has shattered his own record time and again. Last week, ‘Wu Fa Wu Tian’ was his biggest debut in the Top 20 ever. This week, by flying 11-3, it became his best opening ever in the Top 10, beating the record achieved by ‘Ai De Zhu Chang Xiu’ which opened at No.4 this year.

Also, something has happened once in 2003, this year, 3 songs did it. Since ‘Mei Li De Wu Hui’ by Sammi Zheng jumped 11-3, the record has repeated by Show’s ‘Wu Fa Wu Tian’, S.H.E’s ‘Shero’ and Singapore Shanghai Expo theme song, ‘Gan Dong Mei Yi Ke’. Is this year the pole-vaulting year?

By spending another week in the Top 10, S.H.E’s ‘Shero’ has garnered a total of 188 points, thus overtaking Tiger Huang’s ‘Mei Na Me Jian Dan’ as the song with the most point this year.

Long Running No.1s
This quarter, we are seeing more and more songs that spent multiple weeks at No.1. After Shero reigning one month, now Jay's 'Chao Ren Bu Hui Fei' is spending its 3rd week at No.1. As a result, there are only 5 No.1s for this quarter, less than half of last quarter. Are we going into the decade slow down as we see in the charts of 1990 and 2000?

A Star Is Born
Leaping 13-5 is Judy Zhou and S.H.E's 'Liang Ge Ren De Huang Dao'. He is thus the 5th artiste from One Million Stars 1 that made the Top 10 on their own, after Yoga Lin, Yang Zong Wei, Jam Xiao and Peter Pan. With this, it ties the local Project Superstar one that produced 5 Top 10 artistes in the form of Kelvin Chen, Kelly Pan, JY Hong, Sing Shi and Derrick He. The slightly interesting fact is that all the contestants of OMS 1 actually hit the Top 10 with 'Yin Wei Wo Xiang Xin' in 2007.

Dai Ailing, the power vocalist of such hits such as 'Dui De Ren' (never charted) is back with 'Tiao Tong' at No.20, 6 years after she guested on Huang Lixing and Rene Liu's 'Fen Kai Lv Xing' which peaked at No.12 in 2004. If on her own, it was 8 years ago when 'Ta Shi Tiao Zao' reached No.14 in 2002.
