Shanghai Expo 2010 上海世博 2010

Expo 2010, officially Expo 2010 Shanghai China will be held in the city of Shanghai, China from May 1 to October 31, 2010 and is a scheduled World Expo in the tradition of international fairs and expositions. The theme of the exposition will be "Better City – Better Life" and signifies Shanghai's new status in the 21st century as the "next great world city".[1] It is the most expensive Expo in the history of the world's fairs. The expo Logo features the Chinese character 世 modified to represent three people together with the 2010 date. It is also the largest World's Fair site ever at 5.28 square km.

More than 190 countries and more than 50 international organizations have registered to participate in the Shanghai World Expo, the largest ever. China expects to receive almost 100 foreign leaders and millions of people from across the world to come and visit the World Expo. More than 70-100 million visitors are expected to visit the expo, the largest in history.

The China expo is seperated into 5 zones, A to E.
Zone A - Asian Joint and China pavilions.
Zone B - Singapore, Phillipines, Malaysia, Cambodia, International and other organzation's pavilions.
Zone C - African Joint, Carribean Joint, Europe Joint, Central and South America Joint Pavilions
Zone D - Coporate Pavilions
Zone E - Private enterprise pavilions

The Opening ceremony will be on 30th April 2010, held at 810pm.

Anyway the Expo last for 6mths, if got chance i really want to go and take a look!!

I'm planning for a holiday to China in Dec, this one ends in Oct, can't go

Anyway I saw the news that the website allows live view of the various pavilions of the Expo.
Anyway the opening ceremony is airing worldwide now on TV.

Angela zhang sang the theme song of that expo..
i didn't have any idea if how it looks like..i mean the shanghai expo..i'm not familiar with it...but it seems like an important event to all Chinese people..

anyone here watched the opening ceremony that night? Did she appear during the ceremony? I fell asleep shortly while watching, was dead tired that evening.

yeah..she sang two theme songs of 2010 world expo..
one is sea bora or i don't if what it is in Chinese she sung this song when the expo officially opened on march 30,and that night angela Chang was not so lucky, when she accidentally slipped and fell down the stage stairs, sat down on the ground heavily after the accident, she continued singing, & smiling throughout.

poor angela... the stage looks slippery, and the heels so high, it's hard to keep a balance while singing and walking.
